linux-2.6.29-rc5-git6 NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-180.29-pkg2 VirtualBox-2.1.4-42893-Linux_amd64

linux kernel and nvidia driver: suspend to memory works from gfx as well as from text mode. in gfx mode even backlight brightness is restored! in text mode backlight brightness is turned on 100% after restore. suspend to disk (as usual!) does not work. in gfx mode display is turned black (backlight on, magic sysreq works) but suspend is never entered (have not tested network connectivity); in text mode data is written to disk, but wakeup fails after loading the data from disk. nvidia 180.29 now works with and without (!) nopat linux kernel parameter. virtualbox (unfortunately) does not work anymore (see comment for a working/verified solution!). a quick inet-check (unverified) brought up that it has something to do with linux-2.6.29-rc5 (should have been okay up to linux-2.6.29-rc4). virtualbox says:
